Purchased in 1998 and after several remodeling projects, it became clear that the home needed major renovations to bring it into the 21st Century. They enlisted Stuart Sampley, a renowned Austin architect with a strong track record of restoring and updating classic pre-World War II Austin bungalows.
In 2013, JGB Custom Homes completed what essentially became a total rebuild of the home. Although the floor joists and long leaf pine floor remain (now serving as a sub-floor for the new solid hickory flooring) you will find touches throughout that honor the period’s history alongside clean, simple modern design. The windows are insulated, sealed, and double-paned while maintaining the traditional double-hung style of the original house.
